SEJARAH
The history of the Islamic Economics Study Program cannot be separated from the history of the founding of the Faculty of Economics. In 2006 the Faculty of Economics which at that time was still majoring in Economics Education under the Faculty of Social Sciences separated and declared the Faculty of Economics through the Decree of the Director-General of Higher Education Number 761/D/T/2006 concerning the Opening of the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Negeri Surabaya dated February 16, 2006, and the Decree of the Chancellor of Universitas Negeri Surabaya No. . 050/J37/HK.01.23/PP.03.02/2006 concerning the separation of the Department of Economics Education and its Study Programs from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Opening of the Faculty of Economics dated March 16, 2006.

Islamic Economics, which teaches economic management based on Islamic
principles". he added. It is this characteristic that distinguishes us
from other places, because of that the centre (Directorate General of
Higher Education Kemdiknas) approved the change of the Department of
Economics Education to become the Faculty of Economics. he concluded.

then, Islamic economics has been developed by the first dean of the
Faculty of Economics, Drs. Setyo Budiadi, MM. The development began by

enough to establish a Sharia economics study program. In 2010 there was a
change in the leadership of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Prof. Muchlas
Samani replaces Prof. Haris as Chancellor of Universitas Negeri
Surabaya. Since then, the establishment of the Islamic Economics Study
Program has been discussed again. Gayung greets the second dean of the
